Ryohei Sasatani is a filmmaker born and raised in Kyoto. He has directed both narrative and documentary features such as SANKA and Horse Beings, known for their poetic portrayal of Japan’s rural life and nature.
With a deep love for Kyoto’s rich history and quiet beauty, he now offers cinematic portraits for travelers — capturing personal moments with the same care and artistry as his films.

I created this service to capture those fleeting moments — not just as a document of travel, but as a cinematic memory that tells your story.
You’ll receive a carefully edited cinematic short film (around 2–5 minutes), shot in Kyoto with a storytelling approach — like a scene from a film.
We offer three plans: 3 hours, 6 hours, or a full-day (12 hours). You can select your preferred plan when booking.
We shoot at scenic locations in Kyoto, such as Gion, Arashiyama, and Gojo. You can also suggest your preferred location when booking.
Yes! We can help you reserve a kimono rental (around ¥6,000 per person, paid directly to the shop on the day). You can also arrange your own or shoot in your usual clothes — anything is fine.
We’ll discuss with you in advance and decide whether to proceed, change locations, or reschedule. We aim to be as flexible as possible.
We’ll send your completed film online via a private download link. You can view or save it easily on your phone or computer.
