About the Director
Ryohei Sasatani is a filmmaker born and raised in Kyoto. He has directed both narrative and documentary features such as SANKA and Horse Beings, known for their poetic portrayal of Japan’s rural life and nature.
With a deep love for Kyoto’s rich history and quiet beauty, he now offers cinematic portraits for travelers — capturing personal moments with the same care and artistry as his films.
SANKA（山歌）
A narrative film about the lives of the “Sanka” — wandering people living on the margins of Japanese society. Set in the mountains, it explores freedom, tradition, and a life in harmony with nature.

Horse Beings（馬ありて）

Why I started this project
Growing up in Kyoto, I’ve always felt that the city’s true beauty lies not just in its famous landmarks, but in its quiet alleys, the soft morning light, and the timeless rhythm of life. I created this service to capture those fleeting moments — not just as a document of travel, but as a cinematic memory that tells your story.
❓ Frequently Asked Questions
① What kind of video will I receive?
You’ll receive a carefully edited cinematic short film (around 2–5 minutes), shot in Kyoto with a storytelling approach — like a scene from a film.
② How long is the shoot?
We offer three plans: 3 hours, 6 hours, or a full-day (12 hours). You can select your preferred plan when booking.
③ Where does the filming take place?
We shoot at scenic locations in Kyoto, such as Gion, Arashiyama, and Gojo. You can also suggest your preferred location when booking.
④ Can I wear a kimono?
Yes! We can help you reserve a kimono rental (around ¥6,000 per person, paid directly to the shop on the day). You can also arrange your own or shoot in your usual clothes — anything is fine.
⑤ What if it rains?
We’ll discuss with you in advance and decide whether to proceed, change locations, or reschedule. We aim to be as flexible as possible.
⑥ How is the video delivered?
We’ll send your completed film online via a private download link. You can view or save it easily on your phone or computer.
⑦ What payment methods do you accept?
We accept pre-payment via PayPal (account required) or credit card via Stripe (no account needed).
⑧ How do I book?
You can book directly using the form below. Just choose your date, shooting plan, and preferences — it only takes a minute!
⑨ Can I choose the video format?
Yes. You can choose between cinematic (widescreen), vertical, or square format depending on how you want to view or share your video.
⑩ Is there a photo option?
Yes! A set of 10–15 high-quality still photos is available as an optional add-on for ¥5,000. Just select the option during booking.
